The Gamebadges project joined together in Prague to build a suitable service path for the ecosystem and its users. Two days of discussions in the meeting and workshops proved their effectiveness, and the project partners are ready for the next project phases, including ecosystem testing with different groups and pilot courses.

As Gamebadges has launched the Competence Map and Open badges, the work carried out by multiple partners from 9 countries is now taking the next steps with their skill-mapping and micro-credentials. As the ecosystem now has its form, it is time to test it. With some testing already carried out during late spring, the partners had a great starting point to discuss the Gamebadges service path further – how it should look, what the next key areas are, and who is responsible for which part of the path.
Testing the Gamebadges ecosystem
The Gamebadges ecosystem will be tested in multiple game education institutions and a number of game companies during this autumn. The testing phase will support the development of the service path, providing a platform to test the planned process before Gamebadges is ready for a larger testing round – involving multiple external partners.
If you are interested in joining the testing, either now or later, let us know here!

Collaboration to succeed – in the long run
Alongside creating and refining the service path, the partners had time to reflect on the work carried out earlier, and to discuss how to collaborate in the best possible way, aiming to build the best possible skill-mapping and micro-credentials ecosystem for the European game industry.
Partners are working towards long-term impact, with the goal of making the results usable well beyond the project’s timeline. The system offers a valuable solution for talent discovery in the industry — supporting better matchmaking between professionals and recruiters, and enabling anyone to demonstrate how their skills align with the needs of the sector.
The Gamebadges project reached its half-way mark during summer – stay tuned for the second half!
