Open Badge applications will be evaluated by certified reviewers from the ranks of game development educators and industry professionals. Evaluators can only evaluate the skills they possess, so with about 300 Open Badges, we need many evaluators for the process.

As an evaluator, you make an impact by supporting the talents of the game industry by evaluating real-world evidence – supporting the talent to show-off their skills. You also make shared skill standards in the industry stronger and more visible.
Are you wondering which competences you could evaluate, and how to become an evaluator?
- Start by exploring our Competence Map where you can see all the badges and what is expected from badge holders.
- After that – sign up as an evaluator here.
- You will be invited to an Evaluator training session, where you’ll learn more about the evaluation. Evaluators will have access to the Evaluation Manual and Code of Ethics to support their work, as they receive the material when signing up to become an evaluator.
- After the training, you will be guided to Open Badge Passport to create an account and apply for the Evaluator’s Badge.
- When you receive the evaluator role, you can start reviewing your matching competence applications.
- In case you need support, a Gamebadges Steering Group has been formed to support the evaluation process.

At the moment, Gamebadges has not opened the badge applications for everyone, but we have opened the applications with the organisations testing our badges and having evaluators on their own. We are looking forward to changing that in the future. Please follow our social media and news section to hear when we are open for badge applications.
