THE NEXT STEPS FOR THE GAMEBADGES DEFINED TOGETHER IN PRAGUE

As the Gamebadges project has nearly 10 months to go, the project joined together in Prague to see where we are, but also to see what is yet to come for this project. Once again, working together in the same room proved to be an effective way, as the project addressed a number of topics in joint discussion and workshops. After the discussions, we have clear next steps for the next months.

TESTING TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Gamebadges has been in a testing phase with both competence map and open badges. The testing continues, and there are plans to increase the number of testers in the next months. The testing is important to see what works now, but also where there’s a need for improvement. Gamebadges is in constant iteration.

USE OF AI

When the Gamebadges project started, the AI was not used as widely as it is nowadays. Automatization and some AI aspects have been used in the industry for a while, but now there are many people using AI for different kinds of tasks. As Gamebadges is a tool to prove skills, using AI brings us a question whether some evidence for the skills are made by AI and not by the person applying for a skill-based badge. After joint discussion, we now have ideas how to improve the trustworthiness of the evidence being submitted by the applicant. The discussion also covered the question of whether there are badges we should allow the use of AI completely, as the industry is anyway using it.

WHERE DO WE WANT TO GO NEXT?

As the project has approximately nine months remaining, the partners discussed future plans beyond the project period. The discussion covered the key things we want to keep alive in the long run. Gamebadges’ partners are working together to make sure that there’s an owner for all the results after this, and the Gamebadges ecosystem is up and running still after the project has ended.
